Wondering if there is anyone specialising in spares for `moodys? Also needs auto helm fitting to wheel steering. Could anyone advise on best units and approx cost. Many thanks. Lucy

Hi Lucy. Not sure what you mean by 'spares' - do you mean just sails? There are numerous sailmakers who will make you a new mainsail. Unlikely you would find a used one unless a Moody 34 owner happened to have an old one they didn't want.
The steering on the 34 will be a Whitlock system. Best bet for an autohelm to fit on it would probably be a Raymarine wheel pilot, I'm not sure of costs but if you look them up on a retailer site such as Ocean Chandlery, or Cactus Navigation, you should be able to find a price.

Hi Dick thank you for your quick reply. Noticed someone on the forum had a sail from a 346 they were giving away so good to know can happen, will check out sailmakers. The wheel pilot looks like it would fit. Getting boat surveyed so will have clearer idea then. Many thanks again.

I have bought and sold sails through them.
Just had a look and there are a number of Moodys shown but most second hand sails do not show which boat they came from. You will have to use the Excel filtering system to narrow down what you are looking for - multiple columns can be filtered. Suggest that you start by filtering by lengths of luff, leech and foot but allowing a little latitude either side of teh stated measurements for your boat. They can offer advice and modify these sails.
